I saw these plush marimo moss (yes, I know, they're really algae) balls online a few months ago http://kumamushisan.shop-pro.jp/?pid=80450747 and realized that the fake fur I used for the ridiculous green coat would be perfect to use to make my own version of fake marimo, and, eventually, I did!
I freehand cut circles from the fabric and sewed them mostly closed with the sewing machine. I stuffed them with bits and pieces cut off of the fake fur and roughly hand sewed (hiss) them closed. I brushed the fur out of the seams with the wire brush I use for doll hair, and here they are. (I'll eventually find a jar for them. Maybe.)
