I made the Angry Birds storage bag today--not as involved as the Terraria bag, and also conveniently emblazoned with an Angry Birds print, so no inclination to improvisational appliqué.
That didn't keep me from doing it entirely simply, of course.
Hey, look, another slash zipper (once again in yellow.) Consider it practice. (Seriously-- I have Burda 6800, and I WILL make it...someday...and it involves prominent slashed zippered pockets. So.)
Inside is another thrift store grab bag print (the Angry Birds print was purchased intentionally, which is weird for me, yeah, I know.)
Nothing fancy happening inside, and you can see I used some of the interior print in the strap, too.
The other side I had initially though would be left unadorned, but...y'know...
Flappy pocket, vaguely pattern matched components (although definitely not matched to the pattern of the piece they're sewn to), also lined with the green griddy plaidish print.
I started with blue threads, using up the last little bits of two spools, but the upper blue was very very close to gone by the time I was ready to top stitch, so I switched to some nearly-gone red...then the bottom blue ran out and I switched to an already-filled white bobbin, then the top red ran out and I switched to another red (which I had stopped using a few years ago, since it's the relatively new persuasion of pure polyester Coats + Clark, which my last sewing machine did. not. like., buuut the Necchi doesn't seem to care about thread quality, so...yeah. It's fine.) The top stitching should not be inspected closely. I really need to remember that shorter stitches = more inconspicuous recovery from accidental lateral movement when making top stitches.
No inner layers of any kind, this is a floppy bag that just does its job. I don't even know what the dimensions are.
Happy storage for Angry Birds.
