After making the shirt in the previous post and the Over The Hill shirt, I still had sizable chunks of each fabric left--not enough of either to make an individual shirt, but maybe if I combined them?
So I used New Look 6068 with hacked sleeves again and made this
It's a shirt alright!
The black knit used for the neckband and cuffs was also left over from another project--I think it was the leggings here...which, oh, I'd forgotten about that shirt (which has been given to a friend.) That would explain why there's so little of that black knit left, and possibly also explain why there was already a set of cuffs that had obviously been used on/cut off of another project.
I left the thread in the machine from the previous project. Consider it a design element.
Also a design element: the spur of the moment statement sleeves
Not sure if they're a good idea, because I will probably mostly wear this shirt under jackets.
There wasn't enough length in the print to reach the hem and the neckline, but there was enough to cut one side on the fold. Why not make it the back?
All the curves were cut freehand from the print first, then the pink was cut with excess past the curves. The curves were then traced with tailor's chalk, then a contour traced by eyeballing 5/8" for the seam line (roughly), then another line drawn at another 5/8" estimated distance for the cutting line. Nowhere near exact; worked out fine.
