Blues Stripes

Another fast Quik•Sew 1650 sweatshirt, nominally View A but I accidentally cut the length needed for View B and decided to go with that.

and of course the rest wasn't so straightforward, because it's me

First issue was that there wasn't quite enough width of the (thrifted, and purely  because finding a cotton-heavy knit in a thrift store is so rare) fabric left to cut the sleeves at the full width, so I very awkwardly curved the sleeve cap to squish it into the fabric width, the idea being that, as long as I didn't actively remove any width in the sleeve cap, the overall length of it would stay the same and that meant it would still fit the armscye.

It worked well enough.  I also cut the sleeve at almost the View B length, to at least nod at compensating for the length lost to that new sleeve cap curve.

Only a single line of top stitching around the neckband, which is, yes, sparkly velour.  This isn't as obnoxious as the shirt I made for him last week, but it's still a little obnoxious.

The velour has a lot more stretch than what I used for the ribbing in that last sweatshirt, but I still cut the waistband and cuffs a bit longer than the pattern called for.

Happily, it all worked out.

Since it's an ever-so-slightly crushed velour, the nap isn't quite aligned at the seam, which, as usual, I placed slightly offset from the left shoulder seam

It's nothing spectacular, but it's clothes.
