Terracotta Tank Top

And here's another New Look 6766 tank top!

Once again made with fabric sent by the same person who provided the fabric used for my first two versions of this.  This time, though, it was a proper piece of yardage, of just the right length, making it the first time I've cut this pattern without having to get creative.  It was nice!

The fabric is again very soft and stretchy, so I cut it in the smallest size (8) and used the full 5/8" seam allowances, because I knew there would be plenty of room.

I forgot I was going to sew the straps to the inside then flip them to the outside and edge stitch from there, so the knit direction on the straps is reversed from the rest of the shirt.  I don't think anyone would notice or comment, I'm just making a note so I might have more of a chance to remember in the future if needed.

I'm not sure how well it comes across in the pictures, but the fabric is a terracotta color that leans ever so slightly pink.  It's a lovely color, and one I do think I will wear, but not something I ever would have chosen myself, so my thread choices weren't great.  I didn't want to do a complete contrast, because I know the higher the contrast, the worse my stitching, and my stitching was going to be dubious on this soft knit anyway.  I leaned into the pink tone and use pale pink thread and it worked, I think, really well.

As is now usual for me and tank tops, I serged the side seam allowance (construction done on the lockstitch machine, though, because my serger is not completely trustworthy with that fourth thread) but did not serge the very end of the lower edge before folding it up and stitching in two rows to mimic the look of a coverstitch.

No pictures of the back, because it's just like the front but a little taller.

I...might? be done with tank tops (for now.)
