I did it! I made a plain T-shirt, with no extra decorations!
It's New Look 6068 with Kwik Sew 303 sleeves again
with the sleeve length determined by what was left of the fabric (after...uh...cutting pieces for a New Look 6068 tank top from it, too) (and it's all after using some of it for a shirt for the kiddo a few years ago)
The usual "two lines of stitching to attempt to mimic a cover stitch"
along with black rib knit for the neckband and a line of edge stitching around it.
and of course the center back seam
Even with picking out and resewing part of the neckline top stitching, and then reloading a bobbin, I sewed this in 50 minutes...and that's with the construction being done on the lock stitch machine and then the seam allowances finished--purely for aesthetics--on the serger.
Maybe
maybe
it's time I finally tried putting a second needle into the serger and using it for construction seams, and not just finishing...
Maybe.
